Terms and Conditions

These Terms govern your use of wchapps.com, the WCH Apps portal, Task Link, watch API endpoints, and related Garmin companion app services. By using WCH Apps, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

WCH Apps provides a web control center and backend services for companion apps, including Garmin watch apps. Task Link lets you pair a watch app with your WCH Apps account, connect supported task providers, load task lists and tasks, and send task actions such as completing or reopening items.

Some features are free, some may require a paid plan, and some providers or actions may be marked as unavailable, unsupported, or coming later.

2. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in method secure.
  • You are responsible for all activity performed through your account, paired watch apps, and connected providers.
  • You must be legally able to accept these Terms. If you use WCH Apps for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.
  • WCH Apps is not intended for children under 16 unless a parent or legal guardian is responsible for the account where required by law.

3. Pairing, unpairing, and watch authorization

Pairing links a watch app installation to your WCH Apps account. Keep pairing codes private. If you unpair a watch app, WCH Apps will stop authorizing that installation and the watch should return to the pairing flow.

WCH Apps may keep an unpaired installation record as an operational tombstone for support, analytics, abuse prevention, and debugging.

4. Connected providers

You may connect providers such as Todoist, Google Tasks, Microsoft To Do, TickTick, and Toodledo. By connecting a provider, you authorize WCH Apps to access and modify provider data within the scopes you approve. WCH Apps stores encrypted provider tokens and uses task and list metadata only as needed to provide Task Link, refresh provider access where supported, and perform actions you request.

  • You remain responsible for your provider accounts and for complying with each provider's terms.
  • Provider availability, APIs, permissions, limits, and data can change outside WCH Apps' control.
  • Disconnecting a provider in WCH Apps clears the local connection and stored token material. If provider-side revocation is not supported, you may need to revoke access in that provider's settings.
  • Task views such as Todoist Today may be dynamic filters rather than real projects. WCH Apps may treat them differently from provider-native task containers.

5. Garmin and Connect IQ

WCH Apps is independent from Garmin unless expressly stated otherwise. Garmin may distribute or operate the Connect IQ platform, but WCH Apps is responsible for its own app behavior, backend, and privacy practices.

Any data submitted to a WCH Apps companion app or the WCH Apps portal is submitted to WCH Apps and connected providers, not to Garmin. Garmin has no responsibility or liability for that data.

6. Plans, billing, and subscriptions

WCH Apps may offer Starter and Premium plans. The product page and checkout flow show current plan features, limits, prices, billing interval, currency, and taxes before purchase.

  • Premium may unlock all apps in the portal, all available functionality, unlimited usage, and access to future premium apps, subject to technical and provider limits.
  • Payments and subscriptions are processed by Stripe or another payment provider shown at checkout. Their payment terms and privacy practices also apply.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date through the available billing controls or payment provider flow.
  • If a payment fails, WCH Apps may limit, suspend, or downgrade paid features until billing is resolved.
  • Except where required by law or stated at checkout, fees are non-refundable and plan changes take effect according to the checkout or billing provider flow.
  • Prices, currencies, taxes, plan features, and limits may change. Changes will not reduce paid access already purchased for the current billing period unless required by law or platform rules.

7. Acceptable use

You must not use WCH Apps to:

  • Break the law, infringe others' rights, or violate provider, Garmin, Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, or platform terms.
  • Probe, scan, overload, bypass, or attack the service, APIs, rate limits, authentication, billing, or provider integrations.
  • Share credentials, tokens, pairing codes, or account access in an unsafe way.
  • Upload, store, or transmit malware, abusive content, illegal content, or content you are not allowed to process.
  • Use WCH Apps for emergency, medical, safety-critical, high-risk, or time-critical operations.

8. Your content and permissions

You retain ownership of task data and account content you provide or authorize WCH Apps to access. You grant WCH Apps the limited permission needed to host, transmit, process, transform, display, and update that content to provide the service. This may include task and list titles, ids, sections, ordering metadata, completion state, cursors, provider account metadata, and provider token material needed to operate the connection.

You confirm that you have the right to connect each provider account and to process the tasks, lists, and metadata made available through that provider. WCH Apps is not a backup service for provider task data, and provider-side changes may affect what WCH Apps can show or update.

9. Service changes and availability

WCH Apps is provided on a commercially reasonable basis. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features, providers, APIs, plans, or limits. We may also perform maintenance or respond to provider API changes, security issues, abuse, or operational incidents.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, provider availability, task sync timing, exact watch display behavior, or that provider APIs will always support every WCH Apps feature.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WCH Apps is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or error-free operation.

WCH Apps is not a backup service. You should keep access to your original task providers and should not rely on WCH Apps as the only copy of important task information.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WCH Apps will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, provider outages, payment provider issues, Garmin platform issues, or task changes made through authorized actions.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WCH Apps' total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid to WCH Apps for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or CHF 50 if you used only the Starter plan.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using WCH Apps, disconnect providers, unpair watch apps, or request account deletion. WCH Apps may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe there is abuse, legal risk, unpaid fees, security risk, provider policy violation, or a breach of these Terms.

Termination does not affect rights and obligations that should survive, including payment obligations, disclaimers, liability limits, records required for legal or accounting reasons, and dispute terms.

13. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains how WCH Apps collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data. It forms part of these Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Swiss substantive law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protection law gives you additional rights. Courts in Switzerland will have jurisdiction unless mandatory law requires another venue.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when the service, plans, providers, payment flows, legal requirements, or business needs change. The latest version will be posted on this page with the updated date. If a change materially affects your use of a paid plan, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
